Prenatal Care
Prenatal care is the most important part of establishing a relationship with our patients. This is how we ensure you are safe to have an out of hospital birth. Our relationship is developed over the course of your pregnancy which strengthens trust, fosters growth, and prepares families for the birth experience. Establishing care early is hepful so schedule an interview with the midwives as soon as you know you are pregnant.

Labor & Birth
Hudson River Midwives offers in office birth suite births as well as home birth services in the Newburgh area if our client load permits. Families can utilize holistic comfort measures and enjoy bringing their baby earth-side with low intervention, and a calming environment. We strongly encourage families to hire a doula for their birth to provide them with the expertise it takes to navigate a couple through the mental, physical and emotional parts that can challenge the labor process.

Postpartum Care looks different with Hudson River Midwives. We see our clients in their home 24 hours after the birth, then 2-4 days later. At 1 week postpartum clients return to our office for postpartum care, again at 2 weeks, and finally our last postpartum visit is at 6 weeks. You spend your first 6 weeks as a mother receiving guidance and support with breastfeeding, newborn care, and medical attention. Our clients then can focus on their family and self care.
