Certified Nurse Midwife

Amanda Winters, CNM, RNC-EFM

Amanda is a resident in Newburgh, mom of 4 teens, and has been working in the birth industry in various roles since 2008.  She has hospital, as well as home birth experience and spent years prior to becoming a midwife as a doula, labor and delivery nurse, and childbirth educator.  Amanda enjoys working with couples that approach birth as a team and work together to bring their baby earthside in a way that feels right for them.  Amanda is a strong advocate for autonomy in healthcare and works hard to ensure her patients feel safe throughout their experience.

As a newer midwife, based in Newburgh, Amanda provides care to women in the Hudson Valley area. Her goals  are to provide safe, effective care, and to make things as comfortable as possible by adding personal elements of comfort - like actual cloth gowns, so there is no paper sticking to your body during an exam.  The rooms will be comfortably warm, and the atmosphere will be relaxed and conducive to a feeling of ease. Amanda would rather spend more time with you than you spend in the waiting room so that you leave feeling that your concerns are addressed, and you have a plan of care that will handle your well-woman care needs.

Prenatal and birth services will be provided in tandem with  midwife mentors from River and Mountain Midwives and Beacon Community Midwifery  as Amanda launches her practice for births in the home setting.  All births will be attended by 2 midwives.  There is a plan to establish an in office birth suite in the Hudson Valley for 2026 due dates.

We see our prenatal clients at the same intervals every provider does, and are able to order labs, ultrasounds, and refer out for special concerns during your pregnancy. We begin every relationship with an interview to determine fit and answer any questions you may have about midwifery services for your birth.
